Water-based
The most versatile choice. Works with all materials and condoms, washes off easily and is gentle on skin. May need reapplying as it dries over time.
Silicone-based
Lasts longer and is water-resistant – perfect in the shower. However, don’t use it with silicone toys, as it can degrade the surface. Great with glass and metal.
Oil-based
Moisturising and long-lasting, but breaks down latex condoms and can be harder to wash off. Best for massage rather than with condoms.
